In my opinion, the following websites offer tremendous insight into selling and marketing to women golfers.  I accept no fees for listings, but am pleased to take suggestions for resources.  -- Nancy

Have a favorite LPGA player?  Know you want a female instructor? Go to www.LPGA.com for information about the tour players and where you can find lessons from a LPGA instructor.

A great website by a great LPGA and PGA player and instructor, Suzy Whaley, see www.suzywhaleygolf.com.

See www.crittendenonline.com for publications that deal with the golf business and real estate -- published by Crittenden Research, Inc.  Crittenden also sponsors annual conferences and publishes marketing newsletters for the golf industry.

For largest professional golf association is The PGA of America at www.pga.com.  The PGA sponsors the Play Golf America campaign at www.playgolfamerica.com.  On the Play Golf America site, you can find golf facilities and teachers that offer women-friendly lessons and leagues.

For a prize-winning website for upscale and stylish women's golf attire see, http://www.ladygolfer.com.  This is a Golf For Women magazine prize-winning website.  See how they do it!

For women golfers, see Ladies Golf Journeys published by Rosemary Johnson and now available online:  http://ladiesgolfjourney.com.  Everything from travel to clothes to golf tips -- all for women -- very comprehensive with relevant advertising.

For an excellent website about marketing to women in general (not just golfers), see http://www.trendsight.com and information about the President of Trendsight, Martha Barletta.  Her book "Marketing to Women" is a must-read for golf facilities that are trying to market to women.

An example of a very successful public golf facility in Sacremento, California that markets successfully to women see www.hagginoaks.com.  Ken Morton Sr., and Jr., are experts and have won all the awards PGA Professionals can win for their teaching and retail operations.

Two websites written by women golfers for women golfers that show that appeal to women golfers and that organize and offer a variety of encouraging formats and programs for women golfers:

http://www.golfforcause.com Debbie Waitkus in the Pheoniz, Arizona area.

http://www.corporategolfservices.com -- Barbara Hanson in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area

One of the strongest municipal programs for women golfers is directed by Lisa Masters (LPGA) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  See www.threeriversparkdistrict.org and go into the golf academy pages.  Here is how Lisa helps women decide what lessons to take -- notice that there are three levels of beginners to make sure women develop confidence.

NEVER EVER lessons are designed for those who have Never Ever played or had exposure to the game.

NEW GOLFER are designed for the golfer with little or no experience playing golf. New Golfers usually have less than three years of playing experience or play less than 10 rounds a season. This course will incorporate golf etiquette, simple rules, drills and swing instruction into each lesson.

NEXT STEP lessons are designed for the golfer with some experience playing golf. Next Step golfers have typically had three or more years of playing experience and play on a regular basis.
